Have you used the Stampin' Around wheels yet? They are just fantastic - a really quick and easy way to create borders and backgrounds, decorate cards, scrapbook pages, gift boxes and more. My favourite at the moment is the So Swirly Jumbo Wheel which coordinates with the Priceless stamp set. Check out my blog (June 23rd post) to see a cute little box and matching 3x3 inch cards made with the Priceless set and So Swirly wheel.

To purchase your stamp set and receive your matching wheel, just contact me to place an order. You can place an individual order (which I can even have shipped directly to your door) or you can order at a workshop if you attending one in September. You can also order at my Open Stamping Night.

What is provided: Stamp sets, inkpads, markers, watercolour crayons, punches, stamp-a-ma-jig, and much more … including my help and advice.

I am planning a series of classes in November covering basic stamping and cardmaking techniques. These classes will be perfect for new stampers but also suitable for experienced stampers who would like to go over the basics and learn some simple card layouts as well. (Not to mention, a fun social evening!)

Before I announce dates I would like to get some feedback as to which night of the week would be most suitable for most people. I am planning to run 3 or 4 sessions on the same night each week for the month of November, for example it could be every Tuesday night in November from 7.30pm to 9pm. I will cover lots of basic techniques such as 2-step stamping, background stamps, embossing, chalks, etc. You will learn basic card layouts and create approximately 3 projects at each class. You will also receive instructions to collect and keep for future reference.

I may also go on to plan future technique classes covering more advanced techniques at a later date.

If you think you may be interested in the Stampin' 101 classes, please contact me by Friday 5th of September to put in your preferences for days of the week that suit you. I will send out an email with the chosen dates the following week.

Sunday 7th of September is Father's Day. Have you made a Father's Day card yet? If you struggle with making cards for the men in your life, here are some tips and ideas for you:

Patterned Paper - use a fairly large piece of masculine patterned paper (something with stipes is always good!) as the background for you card and use word stamp such as Happy Father's Day or Happy Birthday mounted on a neutral cardstock in the centre.

Hardware - use some of the Hodge Podge Hardware on your card - it can really help to add that manly touch. The photo turns are great, as are the buckles and brads.

Earth Elements - The Earth Elements colour family is fantastic for manly cards. See the Project Planner at the end of the newsletter for an example using Earth Elements.

Stamps - I love the LOVELY AS A TREE set for manly cards. I often turn to my background stamps too for men's cards. I reach for the Canvas Background, Weathered Background and Sanded Background.

Distressing - Try tearing the edges of your cardstock or maybe using the distressing tool in the Cutter Kit.

Crystal Effects

If you want to embellish any image without embossing, this is a quick and easy way to do so. Crystal Effects adds a pretty, high-gloss, lacquered look and the applicator tip gives you great control.

Add a drop or two of our Classic Ink to the Crystal Effects and you'll make a high-gloss coloured finish.

Crystal Effects great as an adhesive to attach button and other heavier embellishments.

Add a three-dimensional effect to your projects with Crystal Effects. Simply apply a thick line of Crystal Effects to the outline of your stamped image. After the line has dried, add a thinner coat of Crystal Effects to the inside area of what was outlined.

Crystal Effects can be used with any stamped image that has been coloured with any medium.

Do not shake - this can cause bubbles that will show up in your work.

Recap after use to prevent the tip from drying and clogging. Allow at least one hour drying time.

This month's project would make a great Father's Day card. It would be equally great as a birthday card or any occasion really.
