Tax System Information 

We need to collect some information about your Tax system.  Please complete all the questions in the following table.  This information is required to perform a successful Tax upgrade.  Again, if you require help with this, please don't hesitate to contact support on 1300 798 717, or log a job on our helpdesk by email to helpdesk@sbsystems.com.au.

What is the name of the server your MYOB system is installed on?
What is your SQL sa user account password?
What is your Tax Master Password? (default is ASSERT)
Have you excluded any returns from the Rollover Process?
You are aware that if a user should try and access the system during the upgrade process, this WILL CORRUPT the entire Tax system.  This will require a complete restore and re-upgrade.  The time required to do this will be an additional charge.

If you have not run the Flexi report to see if any returns have been excluded, please do this now!

Tax Data Roll Forward 

The Retain Schedule Data routine rolls return and worksheet information from the previous tax year to the new tax year. It is extremely important that the correct parameters and options be chosen in the following images. Re-running of the RSD routine due to improper choice of the following selections will incur additional charges.

Tax Tasks Roll Forward

This process allows you to clear or increment the actual and target dates of the tasks for tax completed (TC) and tax lodged (TL).


New Default Settings 

For those Agents who might want to have the Client Copy of the return, its schedules and worksheets signed by the taxpayer on each page, two checkboxes are available in the Defaults tab of the Control record and Tax Agent record in 2023. When ticked, the header of each page will contain a signature and date block.

This functionality is disabled by default, after the upgrade.


MYOB AE (Practice Manager)

If your practice uses MYOB AE, It MUST be upgraded as part of the installation of Tax. This is not an option and is performed automatically by the MYOB AE combined installer.

MYOB AE Tax Reports will also be updated to include the 2025 Tax Reports. The Tax Ledger link (found on the left menu bar in MYOB AE when viewing a client) can also be updated to open 2025 returns. If you would like this to be updated, please tick below:

Workstation Upgrades

As the installation of the current version of AE Tax is a combined installation, it will require all workstations to be updated with the new client software. Installation of the workstation upgrade is not included in the standard Tax upgrade and rollover pricing. However, Smart Business Systems is happy to assist the onsite contact with performing the workstation upgrades or can perform this for an additional cost.

 

Scope of Works Disclaimer

Smart Business Systems can only perform a Tax upgrade and rollover based on the information provided by you, the client. Should incorrect or improper information be provided, Smart Business Systems will not be held accountable for an incorrect upgrade and or rollover. Likewise, should your software require additional upgrades or changes, due to not being on the latest release versions, this will incur additional charges. In the event a user should try and access the system during the upgrade process, it WILL CORRUPT the entire Tax system. This will require a complete restore and re-upgrade. The time required to do this will be an additional, per hour, charge.
